ROGER THOMAS "Tommy" COOPER Paintsville resident R. T. Tommy Cooper retired managerof the Prestonsburg employment services office ofthe Kentucky Department for Human Resources succumbedin a sudden illness Tuesday April 1 1980. Mr. Cooper 71 was the son of J.H. and Permeba Julia PrestonCooper, and was born in Johnson County October 4 1908. A member of the First Christian Church, he was a Veteranof World War II. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Salyer Cooper,a step-daughter, Mrs Charles Ward of Ashland,two step-grandsons and a sister,Mrs Victoria Mackledowney of Charleston, W.Va. His first wife, Garnett Auxier Cooper, preceded him indeath in September 1971. Revs. Ellis Hamilton and Terry Jones officiated atservices Friday, April 4 in the chapel of thePaintsville Funeral Home . Burial was in the Wells-Buckingham Cemetery atPaintsville.
