William Thomas Spargo was born to James Paul Spargo and Ellen Crocker Spargo on June 7, 1885 in Cornwall, England. He also had five brothers and six sisters. Two brothers and two sisters died as babies. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1888 when he was three years old. They settled in Ontonagon, Michigan. He married Emily Emma Forchette of Dollar Bay, Michigan on July 13, 1915. They had ten children born to the marriage, three of them dying in early childhood. They made their home in Ewen, Michigan where they did dairy farming. He died on October 12, 1965 at the age of 80 in the Wakefield Hospital in Wakefield, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Emily in 1958, his parents James & Ellen Spargo, who died in 1943 and 1935 respectively, and three children, Joseph 1930, Martin and Alma, dates unknown. He is survived by his sons John of Ewen, Mi., William Jr.(Gladys)Spargo of Watersmeet, Mi., daughters, Angeline (Clifford) Brown of Watersmeet, Mi., Ada (Val) Augustine of Ewen, Mi., Mary (Wilbert) Grawein of Watersmmet, Mi., Rachel (Norman) Kasten of Ewen, Mi., and Rose (Kenneth) Robinson of Watersmeet, Mi. He is further survived by several grandchildren. Brown Funeral Home of Bruce Crossing, Michigan was in charge of the funeral arrangements and in assisting the family. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ewen, Michigan.
