SUMMITVILLE — Richard W. Clendenin, 72, died July 5, 2009, at Community Hospital Anderson.
He was born Feb.17, 1937, in Anderson, the son of the late Robert Clendenin and the late Viola (Noble) Clendenin Moore.
Richard was a veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Operators Union Local 103; a 4-H Club Leader of Madison County; and a member of Alexandria Eagles Lodge 1771.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma "Billie" (Hendricks) Clendenin of Summitville; stepsons, Bruce (Ermma) Lehman of Yelm, Wash., and Tom (Rhonda) Lehman of Anderson; brothers, Russel Clendenin, Ralph (Karen) Clendenin and Ronald (Jackie) Clendenin, all of Anderson; sister, Janie (Gary) Bohanon of Yorktown; grandchildren, Jennifer, Dana, Trevor, Tony and Tabitha; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler St., Frankton, officiated by the Rev. Al Covell.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the Monday service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be given, through the funeral home, to help offset expenses, or donated to the Madison County 4-H Club.
