Michael James Dinkel, 42, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004. He was born May 8, 1962, in Hays to Fred and Catherine "Katie" (Flax) Dinkel.

He married Lana Fose on Nov. 20, 1982, in Ellis.

He graduated from Ellis High School in 1980. He worked for Express Well Service of Russell the past 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Daniel Dinkel, Manhattan; four daughters, Rabecca Dinkel, Jerica Dinkel, Brittany Dinkel and Hailey Dinkel, all of the home; six brothers, Edward Dinkel, Assaria, Henry Dinkel, Sharon Springs, Harold Dinkel, Fred Dinkel, Steven Dinkel and Chester Dinkel, all of Ellis; seven sisters, Virginia Weigel, Eufaula, Okla., Marilyn Denning, Colby, Kathleen Willey, Belle Plaine, Helen Fischer, Vera Haver, Margie Mickelson and Bernadette Dinkel, all of Ellis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at the church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 today at the church.

Memorials are suggested toward an education fund for his children in care of Wasinger Funeral Chapel, Ellis.
