"James Edward (Jim) Crews, 85, a resident of Rt. 3, Eureka Springs, died Friday, April 6, 1984, at Fayetteville. He was born May 8, 1898, at Mt Erie, Ill., the son of Thomas and Mathilda Shannon Crews. He was a member of the Baptist Church and attended the Lone Star Church. He was a justice of the peace for about 45 years in the Packard Springs Township and operated a lumber mill and farm all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Della Hamon Crews of the home, to which he was united in marriage on Aug. 11, 1917; four sons, Everett Crews of Kansas City, Elbert and Gary Crews, both of Eureka Springs, and Tommy Crews or Rogers; one daughter, Helen Bonham of Berryville; four sisters, Mary Oliver and Hattie Murray, both of Berryville, Annabelle Wolfe of Eureka Springs, and Louella Thompson of Independence, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, April 9, at Nelson's Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs with W. E. Faulkner and H. G. Faulkner officiating. Burial was in the Beulah Union Cemetery." The Madison County Record (Huntsville, Arkansas), April 12, 1984
