Scan of the original undated unnamed newspaper clipping from the Hewitt Family collection. Deducing from the text, "She (Nancy Wolcott Squire) was married to Samuel Squire at Chardon in 1751 (typo because according to the 1900 Census data the marriage date was estimated at 1852) and with her husband HAS lived in Oberlin for about thirty years" the article would seem to have been printed in 1881. George Washington Brown (Find A Grave Memorial# 115906371), Braceville Township, Trumbull County, Ohio is the Newton Falls, Ohio "Citizen" that is Nancy Squire's nephew noted in the article. His wife, Eleanor Sauters, must have clipped the orginal newsprint and saved it. It is possible that the newspaper publisher was the Newton Falls Herald due to the fact that on the back of this clipping is an advertisement for medicine being sold by "D.S. Kistler" who operated a drug store in Newton Falls, Ohio, or it could be the Warren (Ohio) Tribune Chronicle. It is a nagging mystery to me to learn the name of George Washington Brown's great-grandfather. He is the bridge to unlock the chain to the Brown/Wolcott connection. Anyone have the key to share with me? Scan by Mountainbiker, 2013.
