Greta was born in Berea to Billy R. and Bettye Sears Bales. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by two children Ashley N. (Brian Poynter) Bales and Billy E. Bales both of Berea, one grandson Hayden Poynter and four sisters Marsha (Jacob) Bowman, Rejinna Marcum, Treka (Jim) Adams and Brandy (Billy) Conner. One niece Lonna (Aaron) Lanter and four nephews Jason Adams, Matthew Adams, Justin Marcum and Jordan Marcum, and a special friend Eddie Ritchie also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Wesley and Lillie Mae Sears and Virgil and Margie McElfresh.
Funeral services will be 2pm Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Church on the Rock, with Rev. Mark Sarver officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-9 pm at Church on the Rock.
Active pallbearers will be Timmy Lainhart, Jason Adams, Matthew Adams, Jordan Marcum, Jason Poynter, John D. Poynter, Kevin Isaacs and Stevie Sears. Honorary bearers will be Jim Adams and Billy Conner.
