Mrs. Elsie Diem Springer, 79, formerly of Mount Gretna, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday at the Quarryville Presbyterian Home, in Quarryville, following an illness of a year and a half. Born in Intercourse, she was a daughter of the late John K. and Emma Bender Diem. Her husband was W. Brittan E. Springer who died in February 1963. She had been a guest at the Presbyterian Home since June, 1963. She was a former school teacher and member of the Lebanon Lutheran Church, Lebanon. She is survived by one brother, Lloyd Diem, Lancaster, and nieces and nephews. (Intelligencer Journal - Jan 28, 1967)
