Funeral services for Bro. Carl Gossett, 82, of Gainesboro will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. Bro. Gossett died Friday afternoon, June 15 [5], 1998, and was dead on arrival at the Cumberland River Hospital South in Gainesboro. He was born May 16, 1916, in Hickman County and was the son of the late Olif and Zora Brown Gossett. Bro. Gossett was a Church of Christ minister. He was a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ where he served as minister for more than 15 years. He had also served as minister of the Gainesboro Church of Christ and the Stone Church of Christ in Jackson County as well as for congregations in Smithville; Cookeville; Nashville; Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Fayette, Ala. He was a graduate of David Lipscomb College. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Loyal Gossett. His family includes his wife, Marie Gossett of Gainesboro; and one son, Duane Gossett of Gainesboro. Bro. James Paul Anderson and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
