He was born Aug. 7, 1936, in McFall, Mo. He grew up in McFall, where he attended grade school and graduated from high school. In his younger years he spent many hours helping with the family farm. After graduation he served in the military. He married Marjorie R. Fox Nov. 15, 1959, in Greenfield, Iowa. The couple moved to Omaha where they raised their family. He first worked at Western Electric and part time for a landscape business. He then owned and operated a construction business for many years. He also owned and raced Quarterhorses.
He was a member of the Masons and Shriners, where he was active in their Mounted Patrol.
Survivors include: a son, Barry Teel of Omaha; a daughter, Jenny Teel-Bolejack of Omaha; two sisters, Marilyn Crain of Kansas City, Mo. and Eleanor Parman of Dallas; three brothers, David Teel of McFall Mo., Kenneth Teel and Richard Teel, both of Kansas City, Mo.; his former wife, Marjorie of Omaha and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Omaha. The Rev. David Faulkert will officiate. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn, family receiving friends at that time. Burial will be in Voss Mohr Cemetery in Omaha.
