Mrs. Sandra L Lawrence,29,of Simpson Louisiana, died Friday, August 27, 1976 in the Fork Polk, Louisiana military hospital.
Born April 17, 1947 in Oil City, Pa., she was the daughter of I. Dale and Alice Winger States. She was married to David Lawrence who is a U.S. Army serviceman, stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Her father was a former resident of the Punxsutawney-Rossiter area, however she spent most her life in Denver, Colorado.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Miss Connie Lawrence, at home; one son, Patrick Lawrence, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I Dale States, Denver, Colorado: three sisters: Mrs. Vaunda Thurlkill, Sanger, California; Mrs. Linda Reed, Germany; Mrs. Mary Padilla, Rollings, Wyoming; one brother, Charles States, Denver, Colorado; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Winger, Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Paul and Elsie States who were well-known in the area.
Friends will be received after 7pm. today at the Pifer Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. Funeral services are incomplete. Internment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Rossiter RD 1


Sandy was a 29 year old mother of 2, my brother and I. I was so young when she left that I have very few memories, just shadows really. But the amount of love she left with us can never be measured.
