Velma Marie Holzkamper, a beloved member of the Rogers, Ark. community, passed away on March 7, 2019. She was born on July 2, 1928, in Koshkonong, Mo., to the late Walter and Alta Mae (Carlile) Johnson.
Velma, or "Meme" as she was known to many, will be remembered as a vivacious woman with a generous heart. In 1963 she married Phil Holzkamper, who went on to found Phil & Sons Floor Company* in Rogers, Ark., and together they raised a large and loving family. Velma was a devout member of the Orthodox Catholic faith.Velma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons, and six siblings. She will be dearly missed by her 12 children, 39 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and four siblings.All are invited to visit with the family from 5-7 pm on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Tues, March 12, 2019. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park, 2800 West Walnut St., Rogers, Ark.Obit was published in the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette on Sun., March 10, 2019.*Phil & Sons installed the hardwood floors in my new house in 1989.
