Mae was married first to Oddie Pool and then to George Norman "Norman" Jackson. Mae and Norman had two sons--George Norman Jackson, Jr., and James Marcus Jackson.
Mae died on April 4,1970, in San Marcos, Texas, and was buried in the San Marcos Cemetery on Ranch Road 12.
Her husband Norman Jackson. who once served as mayor of San Marcos died in 1987 and was buried beside Mae.
In addition to her husband and two sons, Mae was survived by her sister Minnie Longino of San Marcos.
Pallbearers at her funteral were Jack Wood, Alvin Pfeiffer, Ted MacIntyre, Dudley Doble, Steve Gregg, Searcy Smith, Bob Pollard, and Malcolm Sherrill.
