Funeral services for Glen Roy Adams, 91, West Plains, were Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Adams died at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 4, 2009 at West Vue Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Howell County, Mo., to Glen Roy Houston and Nancy Marlissa Richardson Adams. He received his education in the schools of Koshkonong, Mo., and on April 10, 2004, was married at West Plains, Mo., to Olene Quicksall Lee.

Mr. Adams was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Before his retirement, he was a salesman for the Mac Tool Company for 58 years.

Mr. Adams loved the out-of-doors, enjoyed gardening and to his family and friends, was known as "Pappy." He was a dedicated Christian and was active in the Faith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Olene Adams, of the family home; three stepchildren, Robert Lee, wife, Karin, of West Plains, John Finley, wife, Patti, state of Indiana and Lura Finley of Houston, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ben Adams of West Plains; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents; two wives, Helen and Doris Bernice; and one brother, Joe Clarence Adams, precede him in death.

Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
