Adeline Dodds was born Sept. 21, 1910 in Underwood, N.D. to Gust and Marie (Neuhart) Radke. She moved with her family to Parkston; and later to Wessington Springs. Adeline attended school and graduated from high school at Wessington Springs. She married Alfred Kroger to which a daughter was born. They were later divorced. She attended beauty school at Rapid City, worked as a beautician in Madison and moved to Belle Fourche where she later owned her own beauty shop. In 1948 Adeline married Harold Dodds and they made their home in Belle Fourche. He died in 1974. She continued as a beautician until retirement. In 2002 Adeline moved to Sioux Falls. She belonged to Beta Sigma Phi sorority for more than 60 years.

Adeline is survived by her daughter Donna (Robert) Rodig of Sioux Falls, three grandchildren, Mark (Rene) Rodig, Stacie (Derrick) Benjamin of Lancaster, Calif. and Todd (Jane) Rodig of Yankton. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren Halie (Reece) Deters, Caleb and Luke Rodig, Jerral (Rachael) Hancock, Samantha Hancock, Savannah Tscherny, Katie, Kylie, and Morgan Rodig and two great-great-grandchildren Julius and Anastasia Hancock. Also surving are eight nieces and two nephews. Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, three brothers, and one niece. Memorials may be directed to the Belle Fourche Public Library.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Pineslope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. A fellowship at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche will follow.
