Earl Rucker was the son of Allen and Mary (Folden) Rucker and was born Sept 1897 in Fillmore Co, Nebraska. He moved with his family to Garfield Co, Oklahoma about 1902 where his father Allen soon died.

He enlisted into the Army on April 15, 1917 in Enid, Oklahoma, Co. C.A.C. and was discharged 1 CCAD on Sept 10, 1919 Cp, Pike, Ark. On the 1930 United States Federal Census, Earl at age 32, is found living at a lodgers hotel in Wenatchee, Chelan, Washington. He was working as a commercial Salesman and marital status is listed as divorced.

On December 6, 1932, Earl at age 35, was admitted U.S. National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Leavenworth Kansas for transmitted disease. After being discharged he lived in Denver Colorado for a short time then returned to Enid Oklahoma where he lived with his mother Mary S Rucker.
