Dr. Ayres graduated from St. Rose high school Lima in 1936. He attended Ohio State University and graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago. He was A veteran of World War II with the Flight Surgeon's Office, Medical Corps, US Army Air Corps and was a member of Incarnation Church, Centerville.

Ayres, Dr. Michael B., age 77, died at his Washington Twp. residence on Monday morning January 1, 1996. He was an Optometrist and practiced locally for over 50 years until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 52 years June B. Ayres. Dr. Ayres, formerly of Lima, Ohio, graduated from St. Rose high school Lima in 1936. He attended Ohio State University and graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago. He was A veteran of World War II with the Flight Surgeon's Office, Medical Corps, US Army Air Corps and was a member of Incarnation Church, Centerville. Also surviving are his brother, James G. (Irene) Ayres, Toledo; sister Lois A. Snyder, Lima; many nieces and nephews including Michael D. (Jean) Bowler, Michael R. (Debbie) Snyder, Dayton, James H. (Val) Ayres, Mary Jane (David) Ryerson, Phillip A. Snyder, Toledo, Patrick A. (Linda) Snyder, Independence, Kentucky, June Ann Estes, Eddie Bowersock, Lima, Elaine (John) Poppe, Wapakoneta, Ohio, Dr. Roger Bowersock, Columbia, South Carolina, Susan (Phillip) Roach, Ocala, Florida, Linda (Don) Donnelly, Lakeview, Ohio, and Richard Bowersock, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ayres was cremated. Memorial mass will be held Saturday, January 6, 1996, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Chapel, Parish Center, Father Ken Schwartz officiating. June will receive friends following the mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Heart Association or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by George Miller and Son Funeral Home.
