July 9, 2009 Marion C. Abend, 89, of East Syracuse, passed away Thursday at Crouse Hospital. Marion was born in Syracuse and had lived in East Syracuse 62 years. She had worked as a hairdresser, was a homemaker and volunteered with East Syracuse-Minoa Meals on Wheels. Marion was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse, and a member of the James F. Ray VFW Post 3352 Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J., in 1995 and a brother, Albert Burgmeier. Marion is survived by a son, Robert II (Mary) of North Syracuse; a daughter, Barbara (Wayne) Baillargeon of Copley, Ohio; two granddaughters, Amy and Michele; four great- granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:15 a.m. Monday from Delaney-Greabell-Adydan Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 241 Kinne St., East Syracuse. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
