Jens Mattson 'Miller' Jenson was the son of Mathias Jenson and Hanna Nordstrom. He was born in Swedola, Malmo, Sweden, and joined the LDS Church in 1857. He was a miller in Sweden and followed that trade in this country.
He married Botilda Matilda Jonson in Sweden. Bolita was the daughter of Martha Matta Pherson and Jons Jenson Kack. Jens and Bolita were later divorced, and Botilda took the name of Mathews.
Jens worked for Farr's Mill in Ogden, and he helped bring twenty-four members of the Church from Sweden to Utah.
On September 8, 1881, he married Agusta Olson the daughter of Jons Olson and Cecelia Peterson.
They made their home in Millville, except for three years spent in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, where Jens worked as a miller. He also worked for years at the flour mill in Millville. He was an expert gardener and raised all kinds of vegetables for the use of the family. At one time he had a brickyard and employed six or seven men to make brick and adobe. He was also skilled in fine carpentry, making cradles, rocking chairs and other furniture.
Children of Jens and Botilda are: Magnus Mathews (Mary Beata Olson) and Jim Mathews.
Children of Jens and Agusta are: Gottfried Waldemar (Luella Frank), Joseph Moroni (Millie Jeppson), Jennie Agusta (Manning), Amanda Cecelia (Edward P. Larsen), Anna Rosella (Evan Humphreys), Zilla Alberta and Sarah Rebecca (Joseph Almond).
