Mrs. Ann Parsons, old resident of Lee County, passed away near Croton, October 1, 1911

Mrs. Ann Thrush Moody Parsons, who died October 1, 1911, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 8 days, was born in Pennsylvania. At the age of eleven she came with her parents to Lee County, Iowa, where in early youth she married Joel Moody, who preceded her in death many years ago, to them were born five children, four of whom passed away, one of these sons gave his life for his country, in the Civil War.

Later in life she became the wife of Hamilton Jefferson Parsons, who passed away February 13, 1900. To this union were born seven children, three remain to mourn her death, Mrs. Nan Pollard of Keokuk, Mrs. Sarah White of Ashton, Missouri, and Charley, with whom she made her home for a number of years. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Sarah J. Spurgeon of Bonaparte, thirty-four grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
