Songwriter. He wrote such pop hits as "Just You and Me", Everybody's Somebody's Fool" and "Venus in Blue Jeans". He also wrote the television theme songs for "Bewitched", "Gidget" and "Hazel". He co-produced songs for the Monkees and discovered and produced songs for Tony Orlando. The Brooklyn, New York native moved to Nashville, in 1984 where he made his name in country music with songs recorded by Reba McEntire, Crystal Gayle and others. He died in Nashville, Tennessee at age 68.
