"Bob", of Nederland, passed away at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A native of Louisiana, he had lived in the Nederland area since the early sixties.

Bob worked as a pipe fitter at Texaco Port Neches. He enjoyed traveling and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had also been very active with the Lion Club and the Optimist Club.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ashley Carlton Thomas; parents, Reverend Otis William Thomas and Lillie Florence Thomas; sisters, Ruth Willie Hanna, Vivian Bernice Gibson, Stella Elaine Mundis; brothers, Otis William Thomas, Jr., Julian Leroy Thomas, and Joseph Hinkie Thomas.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Jo Thomas; son, Kirk Thomas; daughters, Amanda Thomas Herring and husband Wesley, Kristen Dawn Thomas; grandchildren, Karma Diane Herring and Lennon Thomas Herring; sisters, Judith Ann Nichols and Viola Thomas; brothers, John Frank Thomas, Charles Lamar Thomas and L.G. Thomas.

Funeral service at the First United Methodist Church in Nederland with Reverend Malcolm Monroe and Reverend Toney Miller officiating. Interment at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
