Leonard Eugene Alcorn, 80, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2009.


He was born September 6, 1928 in Harlem, Montana, a son of Lenard Clark and Edith Vera Hutchinson Alcorn.


He married Patty Jean Campbell. They were later divorced. Gene married Loretta Diane Taylor. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.


He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved his Savior and had a strong testimony of the gospel.


He was the owner of Gateway Trailers for many years. Gene's loves were his family, airplanes, horses and John Deere tractors. He was the happiest when he was working in his yard with his kids and grandkids, or driving his John Deere tractor. He will always be remembered for his jokes, smirk, and the twinkle in his blue eyes.


Surviving are his wife, Lori; one son, David A. (Lucy) Alcorn; five daughters, Christine Nazaroff, Cynthia (Dennis) Knittel, Julie White, Leigh Rich, Denise Ukestine; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Jerry Alcorn; and six sisters, Donna Eggers, Joyce Hughes, Betty Harrison, Dixie Smith, Norma Cisneros and Teresa Harris. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Cecil and sister, Marlene Payne.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Kingston Ward Chapel, 1425 Kingston Drive. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
