Miss Brown taught first grade at Claxton Elementary for the past 11 years where she was considered outstanding in her profession and was very popular with the children in her classes. In addition to her vocation and until a month ago she also served as superintendent of the church school and at the time of her death was chairman of the church board of Christian education, superintendent of the children's division of the church school and director of children's work in the Asheville District where she was highly regarded in each capacity.
Miss Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. (C.W) and Josephine Walton Brown and one brother, James Van Brown Jr. She is survived by one sister, Miss Opal Brown of Asheville and several Aunt's and Uncles.
