Donna Holman Harris, 89, of Sugar City, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg, of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Sugar City to Ezekiel Loader and Stella Mae Jacobs Holman. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She played the organ and piano for numerous choirs at church and community events and also at many funerals. She also enjoyed writing music.
In 1951, she started working for the U.S. Postal Service. At the time of her retirement in 1984, she was the postmistress at the Sugar City post office. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Kathy) Harris of Thompson Falls, Mont., Susan (Dale) Jeppesen of Rexburg and Reed Harris of Idaho Falls; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the services. Burial will be in Sugar City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.flammfh.com.
