He was born in Lawrence and resided in Andover shortly after his marriage to Mary Gallant on November 29, 1953. Roland was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a printer for Lawrence Packaging and later in the maintenance department of Avco Corporation in Wilmington.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gallant) Deschenes; 3 daughters, Cheryl, wife of Donald Moore, Karen, wife of Ronald Deveau and Joan; 3 sons, Ronald and his wife Judith(Grillo), Richard and his wife Deborah (Madden) and Gary; 6 grand children. Roland is also survived by 3 brothers, Henry, Philip and Alfred and 2 sisters Rita (Kimball) and Alice (Dumais).
Arrangements were by Burke Funeral Home, Andover.
Roland was buried on June 1st, 1987 in the family plot of his parents, Cleophas and Clara (St. Aubin) Deschenes.
Note: Although Roland's spouse Mary has two listings, both are correct as Mary's dying wish was to be cremated and buried in two locations.
