Jack was the son of Merida Eugene "Gene" and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Walters Fisher. His parents are buried in Holly Springs Cemetery near Montalba in Anderson County, TX. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War I, and was a member of the South Dallas Masonic Lodge No. 1283. He died at his home in Dallas, and was survived by his wife, Gladys Lorene Dunn Fisher of Dallas; one son, Durwood Fisher of Dallas; one daughter, Lorene Balthrop of Dallas; three brothers, Lewis Eugene Fisher of Dallas, William Levie Fisher of Dallas and Sandy Iddo Fisher of Palestine; one sister, Ida Williams of Palestine; and three grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Dallas Morning News, 11 April 1952.
