She was born Oct. 4, 1897, in Rochester Township, the daughter of George Turner Abel and Etta Johnson Abel.
Miss Abel had taught school in the Rochester School District and retired from the Sangamon County Recorders Office.
Survivors: several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including Elwin Johnson of Rochester.
Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Wilson Park Funeral Home, Rochester, the Rev. David S. Johnson officiating. Burial: Rochester Cemetery.
