Fern Asay Hensley Jarrett, 85, died March 16, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Soda Springs, Idaho where she has been living since Dec. 9, 2004.

Fern was born to Arthur Asay and Linda Amanda Evert Asay on Jan. 16, 1920, in Lovell. She was the fourth child of eight children.

Fern married Marion I. Hensley in 1936 and they were blessed with one son and three daughters. They were later divorced. She married Wilbur (Webb) C. Jarrett July 3, 1958. He brought to this union one son and two daughters.

Fern was a social person and was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She had so much fun when the ladies in the "birthday club" got together to celebrate the birthdays for that month. She enjoyed the many bowling leagues she belonged to over the years and made some great friends there.

Survivors include her children: son, Stanley M. Hensley (Sue); and daughters, Joyce K. Johnson (Dahl) of Puyallup, Wash., and Sharon J. Averett (Jerry) of Soda Springs, Idaho; her stepchildren, son, Wilbur E. Jarrett of Springfield, Neb., and daughters, Barbara Oliver (Pete) of Sheridan and Lora Clifton of Evanston; brothers, Orson Asay, Benjamin Asay and Dale Asay; and sister, Melba Asay Davis. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Webb; her daughter, Beverly Lucille Hensley; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services, under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, will be Friday, March 25, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Lovell LDS Stake Center with Bishop Dean Wolvington of the First Ward officiating.

The family will receive friends on the evening of Thursday, March 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home and on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
