Graveside services for Mrs. Agee will be 2 PM Sunday, April 18, 2004 in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Todd Elliot officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday at Bond Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Agee, 89, of Mt. Juliet died Thursday, April 15, 2004. The Monroe County, Kentucky native was born February 13, 1915 on the Coe place in Turkey Neck Bend, Kentucky to the late George Thomas "Tom" Poindexter of Turkey Neck Bend and Nancy Katherine "Kate" Kerr of Moss. Tennessee. Her family moved to the Pine Branch, Oakley and Holman Hollow communities of Clay County, Tennessee when she was four years old and lived there until 1928 at which time they moved to Mount Juliet. Mrs. Agee was renowned seamstress and sewed for women in Mount Juliet for many years. She also worked in the cafeteria at Mt. Juliet High School in the 1950s and in the cafeteria at DuPont in Old Hickory in the 1960's.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buell Vester Agee; three sisters, and their spouses, Betty (Wiley) Prince, Emma (Vale) Adams and Effie (Z. I.) Brewer; and brother, Rass Poindexter. Survivors include: three children, Melvin (Dorothy) Agee and Betty Joyce (Jim) Gritnell, both of Mount Juliet and Nealon (Goldie) Agee, of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Julia (Mike) Hamblen of Mt. Juliet, James Melvin "Butch" (Wanda) Agee, Jr. of Madison, Roy (Christie) Agee of Nashville and Macey, Manny and Rachel Agee, all of Nashville; sister-in-law, Rass (Jane Jones) Poindexter of Mount Juliet; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Tommy and Mark Brewer, Cathy Adams Elliot, Thomas Poindexter, Nancy Poindexter Kirby and Ricky Prince. Pallbearers will be Butch, Roy, Macey and Manny Agee and Glen and Mike Hamblen. The family would like to acknowledge the aid of Judy, Ella, Julie, Connie and Suzanne of Hospice, Health Care Odyssey.
