MARY M. ACOSTA, 61, a resident of Silver City, entered eternal life in peace on Monday, September 5, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation for Mrs. Acosta will began at 5 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Baca's Funeral Chapels followed by the prayer vigil beginning at 6 pm led by Deacon Bill Holguin. The funeral liturgy will began at 10 am on Friday, September 8, 2006 at St. Francis Newman Center Parish with Father Marcos Reyna officiating. At Mrs. Acosta's request cremation will then take place and the rite of inurnment and committal will then take place at 10 am on Monday, September 11, 2006 at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery.

She was born on March 29, 1945 to Francisco and Ramona (Trujillo) Mendoza. She retired from Gila Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed doing crafts and making gift baskets.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, George of the home; her children, Tina Chavez and husband Martin, Mona Crum and husband Delbert and Joseph Maldonado and wife Yolanda and grandchildren, Dexter and Gabriella Chavez and Benjamin Crum and a step grandson, Justin Lewis. She is also survived by a sister, Felicita Mendoza and 2 brothers, Eduardo and Alfredo Mendoza. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.

Casket bearers will be Martin Chavez, Delbert Crum, Lorenzo Rivera, Andrew Montes, Larry Grijalva and Ruben Martinez.
