MRS. BABBITT, 71, SUCCUMBS
CENTERVILLE - Mrs. Lucille Ann Babbitt, 71, resident of 908 Stewart St., Centerville, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital Friday, June 20, at 7:15 a.m. She had been in ill health several years and a hospital patient for two days.
Born June 23, 1897 near Russell, she was the daughter of Walter L. and Ethel Kells Blue.
On Feb. 16, 1919, she was united in marriage with Earl Babbitt in Corydon and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Babbitt had been a school teacher and had resided in Centerville for six years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Blue and a sister, Faye Blue.
Survivors include two sons, James Carl Babbitt of South Bend, Ind. and Weston E. Babbitt, Westminster, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Romeo of Muskegan, Mich.; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Violet Foster, Centerville, Mrs. Avis Medland, Centerville, Mrs. Mae Roberts, Lucas, Mrs. Louise Baker, Los Angeles; six brothers, Claude, Council Bluffs, Paul, Des Moines, Maurice of Hinsdale, Lowell of East Peoria, Robert of East Peoria, and Ralph Blue of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
Funeral services are pending from Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home.
