"Final Rites Held for Alice Patridge
Mrs. Alice Patridge, former Wessington resident died Oct. 3 from a lingering illness at the Community Convalescent Hospital, Lynwood, California.
The funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 5, 2:00 p.m. at the Biby and Belyea Chapel, South Gate, Calif., with the Rev. Robert Goodwin officiating. Burial was in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Cal.
Alice Martin was born May 2, 1906 at Watertown, S.D., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Martin. She married Wilbur Patridge Oct. 15, 1927. They resided in the Wessington, Huron and Lake Preston areas, owned and operated restaurants. They moved to Calif. in 1955 residing in Huntington Park, Norwalk and Bellflower. She worked for the U.S. Rubber Co. cafeteria for 7 years in the Vernon area.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Patridge of Huntington Park, 3 sons, Lowell of Norwalk, Max of Huntington Park, Billy of Cypress, all in Calif. and 1 daughter Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Russell of Portland, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Margaret Dessonville, Omaha. She was preceded in death by hr parents, one sister and one brother."
