Dorothy M. Beyers of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Core Nursing Home in Bedford, IN. Born on October 9, 1912, in Martin County, IN, she was the daughter of Floyd and Hanah (Harris) Taylor. She married J. Emmett Beyers on April 16, 1933, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters: Jacqueline Bailey and Kay Whitaker and husband, Dennis, all of Bedford, IN; two grandchildren: Doug Bailey of California, and Hilary Whitaker of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Denver Carl and Arnold Taylor; and one sister, Ruby Taylor.

She and her husband operated Beyers Hardware. She was employed with M. Fine & Sons Mfg. and was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bedford.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Reverend David Colgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery.
