Mrs. Dominic Stephen Dies in City at 80; Funeral Monday
A long time resident of Fredericton, Mrs. Elizabeth Stephen, widow of Dominic Stephen, died Thursday at her home on Bridge Street, after a lengthly ilness. She was 80.
She was born at Mount Lebanon and came to Fredericton some years ago. Mr. Stephen died in 1941.
She is survived by four sons, Sarkes and Frank of Buffalo, NY., John and Joseph of Saint John; five daughters, Miss Cesema Stephen, at home, Mrs. Michael Joseph, Saint John, Miss Frances Stephen, Miss Mary Stephen, and Mrs. Norman Domet, all of Toronto, Ont. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will rest at home from Friday evening until Monday morning when it will be taken at 9:15 to St. Anthony's Church where High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated at 9:30 by Rev. J. B. Ward. Burial will be at Sunny Bank Cemetery.
FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Stephen were held yesterday morning from her home to St. Anthony's Church where High Mass of Requiem was celebrated by Rev. J. B. Ward, with Rev. R. J. Coughlan as Deacon and Rev, C. J. Carroll as Sub-Deacon. The funeral was larglely attended and there were many spiritual and floral tributes. Pallbearers were Joseph Zed, Edward Randon, Louis George, Roy Ramey, George Moran, and Louis Doherty. Burial was made at Sunny Bank Cemetery with prayers and grave offered by Father Ward.
