CATHERINE M. JOSEPH

The death of Mrs. Catherine Mary (Stephen) Joseph, of Crowley Road, Saint John, wife of the late Michael Edward Joseph, occurred on Sunday, March 25, 2001, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Devon, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Elizabeth (Deep) Stephen.

Mrs. Joseph was a member of the Ladies Maronite Society, the Canadian Lebanon Association, and was a former member of the Cathedral CWL. At the time of her death, Catherine, was the oldest member of the Lebanese Community in Saint John and was fortunate enough in 1964, to travel with her husband Michael to Lebanon to visit his birthplace and the birthplace of their parents.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife Sally of Curtis, ON and Robert (Buddy) and his wife Joan of Rothesay, three daughters, Dolores (Mrs. Frank Arthur) of Rothesay, Yvonne (Bonny) (Mrs. James Young) of Rothesay and Mona (Mrs. Thomas Crowley) of Saint John, one brother, John Stephen (Clare) of Rothesay, two sisters, Frances Stephen and Martha Domet, both of Toronto, ON, two sisters-in-law, Noreen Stephen of Saint John and Dolores Stephen of Buffalo, NY, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Sarkes, Frank and Joseph Stephen and two sisters, Cesema and Mary Stephen.

Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at 10:30 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society of Saint John, the Canadian Cancer Society, the David Stephen Foundation or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
