HAMLET -- Mrs. Amelia C. Kegebein, 83, of Rt. 1, died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday at the Medical Center Hospital, Tyler, Tex. The Haverstock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

HAMLET -- Mrs. Amelia C. Kegebein, 83, of Rt. 1, who died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday at the Medical Center Hospital, Tyler, Tex., will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Haverstock Funeral Home. Rev. Edward Koehneke, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tracy, will officiate. Burial will be in the Tracy Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday and up until the time of service at the funeral time. Memorials may be made to the Tracy Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She was born Nov. 8, 1895, in Wanatah. On Oct. 16, 1917, in LaPorte County, she married George E. Kegebein who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1947. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Harrington of Tyler, Mrs. Beulah Langdon of Freeport, Ill., and Mrs. Doris Hall of Valparaiso; three sons, Paul Kegebein of LaPorte, and George and David Kegebein, both of Hamlet; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Miss Louise Gloor and Mrs. Clara Masek, both of Wanatah. One son, six sisters and four brothers, preceded her in death. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tracy. She was a teacher at the Kingsford Heights Elementary School for 20 years and an active member in the Union Twp. Cherokee 4-H Club. She was a member of the Union Twp. Farm Bureau and a member of the Community Endeavor for Senior Citizens.
