KIA in a Civil War battle.

US General Tecumseh Sherman took over Kingston on 19 May 1864. The Confederate Supply Center for the Railroads and the Confederate Hospital were taken over when the Confederate Army (led by CSA General Joe Johnston) retreated. The hospital was then used to treat Union soldiers. Union dead were buried in the Confederate Cemetery in Kingston, and later reburied in the National Cemetery in Marietta, Cobb, Georgia.
