Clarence, the son of Henry and Jane Donhue Welch was born May 13, 1917, in Vernon Parish, LA. He passed away Tuesday, June 12th, in Leesville, LA.
Bro. Welch surrendered to the ministry on April 13, 1952 and served as a pastor and preacher for many of those years. He invested labor and love in the founding of Union Baptist Church’s Family Camp. He spent the last years of his life as a dedicated member of Corner Stone Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in the field, spending time with his family and friends sharing the gospel message of Our Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Chance Combs; two sons-in-law, Bobby Chance & Dr. Bewell Combs; grandson, Brent Chance; three sisters, Ella Williams, Sirvella Gaskin and Liddy Addison and seven brothers, Jesse, John, Orrin, Olen, Bill, Russel and Floyd Welch.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 73 years, Lovine Welch; two granddaughters; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
