Joe was the husband of my beautiful & precious friend Recia. I 1st met Recia in 1998 when she was singing with a band. I fell in love with her wonderful voice & with her sweet, out going personality. She & I became instant friend's. I later met Joe in 1999 again while Recia was singing.. I liked him from the moment she introduced us. Tho quiet he was so nice & had the warmest smile. And, each time he looked at my beautiful friend you could see how much he loved her..How much he adored her & when she was on stage singing his face lit up like a Christmas tree. You could see how proud he was of her.

And, Recia loved Joe every bit as much as he loved her. Every time I saw them together they looked so happy. Jesus called Joe home last Sunday afternoon & I know Recia & his children will be lost without him. But, I know too that Recia is a strong woman & with her own inner strength & God's love she will get thru this pain.
She lost Joe to lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Recia Carol Ford Wilson; his children, James and Debbie of Arlington, Texas, Tracy and Chris of Bedford, Texas, Beth of North Carolina, Joe and Casey of Fairfield, Texas, Taylor of Midlothian, Texas and John and Cheryl of Azle, Texas; eight grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Jay, Zachary, Skyler, Jordan, Kyla and Jolee; three great-grandchildren, Jayleyn, Jeron and Jessilyn; and his siblings, Reba and Steve of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Ronald and Naomi of Alvarado, Texas. Joe was a retired heavy equipment operator and had a true zest for travel and life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joe was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Nimrod, Texas, to Joseph and Ethel Wilson. He passed away at home July 12, 2009, in Midlothian, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ethel Wilson, and his son, Kenneth.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Tomlin Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
