Pierre Lefebvre (b.1616) married Jeanne Aunois and immigrated from France to Trois Rivières, Canada before 1658. Their son was known as Ange Lefebvre dit Descoteaux (b.1658).
A direct descendant, Alfred Descoteaux (1859-1930), immigrated from the province of Quebec to Vermont about 1875, and later homesteaded on land near Webster, South Dakota. He married Sarah Christine Cope in 1889, and they later moved to Yakima, Washington. Descendants changed the surname to Decoto, and lived in Washington and elsewhere.
