Our mother made her journey to God's garden and went into the arms of her husband and soulmate, James D. Smith, Sr. and her son, James D. Smith, Jr.
Mom was born in Ellinwood, Kansas, the only daughter of Fred W. and Caroline A. Weller.
The family sincerly appreciates and thanks the staff and management of Nancy Hinds Hospice and Caring Hearts Residental Care for the loving care, compassion, and friendship they gave to mom and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and son-in-law, Attilio Fanucchi, Jr.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Mary L. Fanucchi and Lois E. Elmore of Fresno; four grandchildren, Michael A. Fanucchi and his wife Ann Marie of Fresno, James D. Smith III and his wife Amy of Antioch, and Patrick A. Fanucchi of Fresno; granddaughter, Michelle Blagrove and her husband Dave; great-grandchildren, Haley and Logan Blagrove of Daly City; and daugher-in-law, Sandra L. Smith of Magnolia, Tx.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park, on Monday, July 20, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice, Fresno SPCA, or charity of choice.
