Lyman, SC - Thomas Eugene Smith was dead on arrival at Spartanburg General Hospital on Thursday morning, Jan. 26, 1978. Native of Spartanburg County, SC and son of the late John Thomas and Elmina Wilson Smith. Member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and a retired carpenter. Survivors included: T. E. Smith, Jr.; three sisters; Mrs. Ruth Franklin, Mrs. Eunice Sherbert and Mrs. Clara Jackson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
