The Mortuary Record - Jehiel Annis
Jehiel Annis, living with his son, Samuel Annis, near Wyatt this county, died May 7, aged 71* years, 6 months and 1* days. He was one of the pioneers of St. Joseph County. Mr. Annis moved to this county in 1816 from Washington County which was the place of his birth.
He was twice married and was the father of sixteen children. He leaves 35 grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Mr. Annis and wife were for years members of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. The funeral and interment took place at the Union Church conducted by J.D. Coverstone
