ROGERS, Margaret Windsor, February 18, 1928 - June 18, 2009

Margaret Elizabeth Windsor was born on February 18, 1928 in Prescott, AZ to Merrill C. and Martha (Bockoven) Windsor.

Margaret passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in Medford, OR.

Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Merrill C. Windsor, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gardner S. Rogers; two daughters, Ann Wilbanks of Winterport, ME and Barbara Coombs of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren, Matthew and Katie Wilbanks; her brother, David Windsor and many loved friends and relatives.

Margaret graduated from Prescott High School in 1946 and from the University of Arizona in 1950. She pledged Gamma Phi Beta and remained actively involved with her sorority throughout her life. She was in the top women's honorary societies for her Sophomore, Junior and Senior years at the University and was President of the U of A Women's Athletic Assoc.

Following graduation, Margaret worked as editor of the U of A alumnus magazine until her marriage to Gardner in 1954, when she moved to the SF Bay Area. From there, they moved to Western Australia; Wayne, PA; Carmel, CA; and Medford OR.

She had a life-long love of reading and loved every kind of sports, developing a great love of golf in her later years. Margaret often described her life as "blessed" and took every opportunity to share her love of life with those around her, whether through her work, her church, her many volunteer efforts, or in her relationships with so many friends and family.

A Memorial Service was held Friday, July 3, 2009 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Medford, OR. Interment will be in the family plot at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chicago. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held at a later date in Tucson, AZ, details of which can be found at www.desertrc.com/margaret.html.
