VALLEY FALLS -- Anna A. Heineken, 96, Valley Falls, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at a nursing home in Nortonville.

She was born Aug. 31, 1902, in Crab Orchard, Ky., to Charles and Anna Turnbull Brown. She moved to Atchison County in 1910 and graduated from District No. 42 grade school.

She was a member of the Baptist Church in Valley Falls where she had been president of the Women's Missionary Society and a Sunday school teacher. After the church closed, she became a member of the United Methodist Church in Valley Falls and the Esther Circle at the church. She was a charter member of the Sunflower Home Demonstration Unit, a member of the Nicholonian Club and a former member of the U&I Club.

She married Ernest C. Heineken on Feb. 15, 1922, in Atchison. They lived on a farm northeast of Valley Falls many years until 1978 when they moved into Valley Falls. He died March 2, 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Koons, Valley Falls; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a great-great- granddaughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Valley Falls.

Burial will be in Nortonville Cemetery.

Relatives and friends will meet after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, 410 Frazier, Valley Falls, 66088. Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is in charge of arrangements.
