His parents were Archibald Gullie Hamilton and Elizabeth Earixson Hamilton. She was born in MO. Oct. 13, 1883 and died Nov. 22, 1883 in Mercer Co., MO. Archibald was born Sept. 1, 1831 VA. died Feb. 4, 1904 Mercer Co. Death Certificate spelled his mother's maiden name and his middle name as Erickson. So I think the Earixson spelling was a misspelling over the years. So the coroner must have changed the spelling that was used over the years after John's death.
