Samuel Avey was the brother of Matilda E. Avey, b. Oct 1853 and John L. Avey, b. 1864. They were born in Maryland. Matilda E. Avey married Martin Henry Long, b. 12 Aug. 1850 in Frederick Co., Maryland. They married 14 April 1878 in Keedysville, Washington, Maryland. They were counted in the 1880 Federal Census in Douglas, Nemaha, Nebraska where Martin Henry Long was a farmer. My records show that Martin H. Long died Sept. 13, 1940 in Auburn, Nemaha, NE, but I don't have where he is buried. I also don't have anymore info on Matilda. Martin & Matilda had one daughter, Laura N. Long, b. May 1887 in Nemaha Co., NE.
