Paul Charles DeRossett, 64, a taxi cab owner and commercial fisherman, died July 2 at Humana HospitalAlaska following a lengthy illness. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Fort Richardson National Cemetery with Chaplain Major Ethan C. Voges officiating. Mr. DeRossett was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Grand Tower, Ill., and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Alaska in 1947 and lived in Anchorage and Cordova for 13 years before moving to Washington. He returned to Anchorage in 1968. He had been an owner and driver of a taxi cab company for several years. He was a commercial fisherman out of Kachemack Bay and Homer, a pastime which he enjoyed most of all. He leaves his companion of 20 years, Evelyn Ammerman, of Anchorage; his daughters, Paula Vaughn and Lana DeRossett, of Anchorage; his sons, Ronald, of Anchorage, and Dean, of Renton, Wash.; his brothers, Walter, of Cahokia, Ill., and Jessie, of Vergenns, Ill. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 406 W. Fireweed Lane, Suite 101, Anchorage 99503. Arrangements were by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
