Mrs. Rask was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Colton, Ore., to parents Alfred and Edna Swanson. She graduated in 1945 from Colton High School as the valedictorian.
On Sept. 8, 1946, she married Fred Rask at the Colton Lutheran Church. They lived in Colton until moving to Madras in 1974.
She was employed from 1945-48 as the Clackamas County Clerk, 1955-74 with the Colton School District in administration and the music department; and from 1974 to the present with Glenn, Sites and Reeder Attorneys.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church in both Colton and Madras and her special interests included music, work, making Christmas cards, church, and her family and friends.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Susan Rask of Madras; grandchildren, Dean and Michele Rask of Culver, Tami Rask of Madras, and Jamie and Chris Colton of Sumpter; and great-grandchildren, Kayley and Chelsey Kelly, and Seth Colton. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Rask on Dec. 5, 1996, and her brother Leonard Swanson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Lutheran church, 395 S.E. C St., Madras. A memorial coffee gathering will also be held in Colton, Ore., from 1 to 4 p.m., Aug. 7, at 22501 S. Schieffer Road. Memorial contributions have been suggested to Mountain View Hospice, the Madras Lutheran Church, or the Colton Lutheran Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Autumn Funerals of Redmond.
